Leadville is just 8 miles from Ski Cooper, the best kept secret in Colorado, 24 miles from Copper Mountain, 34 miles from Vail, and 39 miles from Breckenridge and Keystone ski areas. Leadville Ski Country offers discount lift tickets to Ski Cooper.

Snowmobiling in Colorado

Experience the rush of driving through the snow around the beautiful Turquoise Lake. This 20-mile loop will take you through beautiful trees as you weave your way to a high vantage point and then come back down across the dam.

You'll enjoy a play area where you can romp around in the snow. And many times you'll spy ice fishermen out on the lake waiting for their next big catch.

Sledding

The Dutch Henri Sledding Hill is one of the highest and fastest hills in Colorado, with improvements this year for longer, safer runs. Grab your sled or tube and come on up for some old-fashioned downhill fun! The hill is a one-minute drive south of downtown Leadville on Highway 24. 

The hill is open seven days a week and is completely free. Tube rentals are provide on-site on the weekends. Families and kids will have a blast here going down the four chutes and hiking up the hill.

Colorado Cross Country and Snowshoe

Leadville and the surrounding areas have a great variety of cross country and snowshoe trails. From the Mineral Belt Trail that goes around the town to the Colorado Trail that runs through the wilderness of the Rockies you'll have an awesome time.
